was my classmate at NITC) claimed he knew how to cook and proposed the idea of cooking. Both of us suddenly went into action and set up the kitchen with stove, vessels, cooker, gas connection and done! I made him my Guru and after the first cooking session I understood he din knw much! I revoked his ‘Guru’ status the very next day and assumed an equal status as chief chef. We inducted the third roommate (Dev) as trainee.This is Git's washingMachineVegetable (WMV)Algorithm.

wash( vegetables);
cutIntoPieces( vegetables);
putIntoCooker( vegetables, salt, curryPowder, water);
initialize ( cooker, stove, lighter);
while( noWhistle or noCookerBlast or noOtherDisaster)

walkHereAndThere();
thinkSomeStupidThingsAsAlways();
sitIdle();
playPrankOn( roommate);
}

if( havePatience) AllowToCool (cooker);
else //no patience
{forceOpen (cooker);}
serve( product);
}
else //blast or other disaster
{
cleanEverything( everything);
keepMum (incident);
}
}
This is the simple WMV Algo.
This is the simple WMV Algo.
It resembles the washing procedure ( put dress and washing powder, switch on water supply and power and done!) and hence the name.
A slight variant is the WashingMachineChicken(WMC) Algorithm where the difference is, we put Chicken, Onion and Chicken Masala. In WashingMachineRice(WMR) Algo we put rice instead and wait for 3 whistles. The patent for all these goes to Git. I still rememb
er he was very humble inspite of these vast knowledge and expertise (sale ko kuch bi nahi aata aur baatiein karta tha Taj Chef jaisa….). When I told abt this long after he left Bangalore his response was " Sale kutte kamine, mere khane pe hi tu ji raha tha!!".
er he was very humble inspite of these vast knowledge and expertise (sale ko kuch bi nahi aata aur baatiein karta tha Taj Chef jaisa….). When I told abt this long after he left Bangalore his response was " Sale kutte kamine, mere khane pe hi tu ji raha tha!!". Thus we 3 had rice and curry for some time based on washingMachine series of algorithms.
Then I recalled the different colored powders used at home and called up amma (mom) to know more about. She explained each and told when to add and how to. I incorporated powders (red, yellow and all!) chilly and curry leaves to the WM series of algorithms and took our colorless, odorless, tasteless product to a slightly higher level.
One thing about our cooking is that the guy who cooks feel it is okay and the rest feel it is terrible/horrible or whatever. So I came up with the idea of cooking together. All three would be involved in the cooking and as each one is responsible for the final product, every one appreciated it and believed it is almost perfect!
to be continued....
(more to come...including how Dev almost blasted a cooker!)

nice one.....
perfectly true... ;)
another chief cook..... :)
@A Malayali...
cheers!
Please share ur experiences in your blog so that ppl get to knw what not to do while cooking!! ;)
hahaha super shobith! very good algo :P
btw how come all three are stick man in the cartoon ? ;)
Nice post! Loved it.. especially algo and pics :)
are you ppl still cooking?? :P
you can cook some delicious (?), colourful food and get it to office,so that we can taste it and review it :)
@Greeshma
thanx! algo is Gitesh's proprietary! Sorry for using your proprietary image! b/w I am getting thinner.. and so if I drew a fat image ppl might not recognize in future ;)
@chethan
thanx dude! For your info:We still cook tasty, delicious, mouthwatering dishes (purely based on our definitions for the same). We had bala once at home to get our chicken curry reviewed and had a very bad experience(not for him ;). He njoyed it so much that he licked the plate and then gave a bad review (purposefully). So we have to think once again about getting reviewed! ;)
Super post! I hope your post goes on to encourage the other souls around to cook!
We too have a similar algo, slightly more complex thats all.
Happy cooking!
da it is saale ko kuch bhi nahi aata....ippazhazhano idunne?
@quirkygirl
:) thanx! We are ready to give trainings and consultations for anyone who would like to explore the complex world of cooking!!! Girls have really complex algos for cooking which are not feasible for us to implement... Our algos are simple and can be implemented with limited resources and practically no knowledge!
@joh
nee enne jeevikkan sammadikkilla alle... ;)
nice post dude...awesome...u did a remarkable job in d blog history..hehe.. that algo is new, huh?eagerly waiting to see the remaining...
@devibahan
;) thanx! I am back to my old nitlife style! :)

Kalakki!
Try 'coconut chutney' blog. U can learn some pointers frm her...
@Joseph
:) I like that blog. I got the link before, from your profile. :)
Sorry Sho for late comment, as I know U wanted a quick response from me, but I came ol after almost 2 weeks & this frequency is going to reduce further, so let me start now...
Frankly speaking I enjoyed reading it, very innovative post(use of algo)...but Sho, I dont understand how have u misnamed the algo.? It should be Sho's WMV Algorithm rather than Git's....or if the algo's name is correct, this algo has a lot of logical bugs..
Anyway u also know u n Dev have 2 cases of burning the rice n cooker, my profile is 100% clean.
n I completely agree with u on gals having a complex algo. as generally they are far better cook than us. n also they have a complex nature which is difficult to decode , difficult to understand(at least for me). so both things when combined give a complex algo.
@Gitesh
Yup indeed I was waiting the comments from the 'master chef'! When we experiment, such things happen!
Are you teaching in Delhi or decoding the Delhi gals' complex nature! saale.. try to put one more student into IIT rather than decoding... :)
